CareerBuilder Challenge

Greetings, Grinders! We have a strange type of event this week, with one of the two annual Pro-Am tournaments on the docket. To get all the professionals and amateurs through their rounds, three courses are utilized, and the cut will not come until every golfer has gotten one round on each of the three courses (after Saturday’s rounds). The PGA WEST Stadium Course will be the host course, and everyone who makes the cut will play there in the final round on Sunday. It is also the hardest of the three. The PGA WEST Nicklaus Course and La Quinta Country Club are the other two courses, and it will be key for golfers to go low at those two venues.

With all four courses playing to a par 72, par five scoring will be key this week. Distance is not necessarily a must, though, as plenty of the par fives are reachable in two from the fairway for most of the golfers. Ball striking, short game play, and birdie or better percentage are other key stats I am looking at. Generally, we will see pretty good scoring, as the pin placements are not that difficult thanks to the Pro-Am format. Now, let’s get to some GPP picks for the CareerBuilder Challenge!
