PGA GPP Breakdown: Genesis Open

Top-ranked grinder, STLCardinals84, will break down his top GPP golf targets for the coming week’s tournament, going over his favorite plays at various price ranges. Who better than PGA DFS master, STLCards, to help you on your way?

Genesis Open

Greetings, DFS golf fanatics! Welcome back to the GPP breakdown for this week’s event, and we have the strongest field of the 2019 calendar year to date. 144 golfers will assemble at Riviera Country Club for the Genesis Open, and there are some large GPP contests available this week. Let’s hope for some run good and a solid week!

As for the event, we have plenty of course history to lean on at Riviera. This event has been around for decades, and the course is as tried and tested as any that is used on the PGA Tour. It has certainly withstood the test of time, and it’s an all-around challenge for the golfers that choose to play here. As is the case with many difficult layouts, the top golfers tend to rise to the top of the leaderboard here. Only one golfer has won over the last decade without having at least four previous starts at Riviera, and that was James Hahn five years ago. It will be shocking if a golfer outside the top 50 of the world golf rankings wins this event. Experience reigns supreme.
