PGA GPP Breakdown: The RSM Classic

Top-ranked grinder, STLCardinals84, will break down his top GPP golf targets for the coming week’s tournament, going over his favorite plays at various price ranges. Who better than PGA DFS master, STLCards, to help you on your way?

The RSM Classic

Welcome to the final PGA GPP article for the 2018 calendar year! We have the winter break coming up after this event, with the exception of the 18-man charity event in the Bahamas in a few weeks. Let’s try to make this final event count!

The RSM Classic is held on two courses in the Sea Island, Georgia area. This is done because we have a full 156 man field this week, and it’s hard to finish full rounds with a 156 man field given the limited daylight hours at this time of year. As such, the first two rounds are split onto two courses. Each golfer will play one round on the par 72 “Plantation Course” and one round on the par 70 “Seaside Course” prior to the Friday evening cut. The golfers who qualify for the weekend will play the final two rounds on the Seaside Course, which is the only course of the two that will utilize ShotLink data.

The Plantation Course is more protected from the wind with trees, and if we do get a “windier” day over the first two days, I will prioritize golfers who are playing on the Plantation Course on the windy day. Keep an eye on the forecasts. Otherwise, this is a course that is made for golfers who are elite approach players. Both courses are short in nature, and there is no requirement for distance off the tee. I will be prioritizing golfers with good approach and ball striking metrics, and this can even turn into a putting contest at times. There will be plenty of birdie chances if the wind stays down.

Let’s get to some GPP picks for the week!
