I will say this week I had a particularly busy week, and didn’t get to consume a lot of the normal material and read the articles I normally read to get a feel for what everyone else is thinking. So perhaps I shouldn’t be shocked, but I’m going to talk about some of the things that jumped out at me – but I’d like to hear from everyone else as well if you’re really happy about any of these or if anyone totally surprised you!?

For me the name that sticks out is James Hahn. I didn’t see that one coming. But like I said I was disconnected from the outside world for most of this week while handicapping. We got to watch him love some on Friday I believe, and he had a rough weekend last week. I don’t have anything against the guy I just didn’t see 30% hitching their wagons to him in the Double-Up!

Spieth came in highest owned, which was something that I think a lot of us suspected. It’s interesting he stays about level in cash versus GPP. I’m not sure why, but it’s just interesting, most guys will lose a few % when you compare. I think some people actually talk themselves out of using Spieth in 5050s because they don’t want to punt.

Speaking of punts! Mark Hubbard! His presence at this tournament was heavily rumored coming in! It’s hard to pass up a guy with that many made cuts when looking for a punt! I think it says a lot about how people do their research and what they’re looking at. I honestly thought that entire salary range was pretty much a wasteland, you could have tried to shine any one of those lumps of coal into a diamond in the rough … I played several of them, but I’m not holding my breath for anyone to do anything special!

The last thing I really like to look at every week is who took who amongst the $10k+ guys. Here’s our list for the Drive the Green:

Jordan Spieth 30.3%
Dustin Johnson 21.7%
Jimmy Walker 16.8%
Brandt Snedeker 14.9%
Phil Mickelson 10.9%
Jason Day 8.6%
Bubba Watson 8.2%
Justin Rose 5.3%

I think that’s it! So, I think this was fairly predictable. Spieth #1, DJ clearly next, Walker/Snedeker getting love for course history and west coast swing, and then the forgotten men – Phil, Day, Watson, and Rose.

I’ll just say that I played 75 entries this week in the Drive the Green and I have Justin Rose in 44% of them so … … … wish me luck!

And I’ll do the same for you guys!

Feel free to add some comments, I might be able to add some more contests later, but generally these should give a rough feel for what’s going on elsewhere.
