Alright! First one “back” and another field chock full of big names and really really high ownerships! Let’s see where everyone ended up!

Branden Grace (40% GPP, 55% Cash): Just too cheap! Everyone has fresh memories of him winning (fresh enough) and it’s a price point that fits in ANY lineup style – something we see typically contribute to a very high owned player. I wasn’t 100% confident he’d be THE highest owned but I’m not surprised at all!

Hideki Matsuyama (33% GPP, 53% Cash): Honestly I wasn’t sure how this one would play out, and honestly I am kind of surprised at this result. I’m kind of used to analyzing things a little bit differently and having some vagueness when I try to put myself in the shoes of “everyone else” BUT – we can all probably say that, that’s why the ownership game is such a puzzle and never comes out perfect every week. I obviously know he’s been red-hot and that carries a lot of weight, I just didn’t feel like this was a good place for him to stay red-hot, and especially in GPP, I was happy to go another direction. I really thought people would be more excited to pay the same or less for other elite golfers and at least bring them more even in ownership – NOT Hideki getting a huge slice! But can’t argue with the recent results!

Jhonattan Vegas (35% GPP 52% Cash): – Heh. I ended up with a good chunk of Vegas. But also didn’t expect him this high. I suppose his value was more clear than I thought. I didn’t feel like he was necessarily the best “fit” for the course but ultimately some things override that and his price was just too cheap. If I had known he were going to be 35% owned I probably would have dialed back on him. But such is the nature of the DFS ownership game!

Jim Herman (7% GPP, 4% Cash): Since I have the privilege of writing this in the evening with the wonky start-time, got to highlight mister-second-place himself. Obviously he’s the big surprise winner so far. Obviously he’s flashed it before but I couldn’t come up with any reason to pick him, other than just to be contrarian – which TO BE CLEAR is all the reason you need in this field. So, touche, Herman owners!

Rory/Schwartzel/Sergio/Willett/Scott/Stenson (2% GPP, 1% Cash): – This is NOT NOTHING. Some free juice for everyone. This doesn’t happen that often these days really, especially in golf, but when it does, we ALWAYS should be grateful. It absolutely matters and hopefully that small edge will help some of our RotoGrinders turn a profit this week!

Good luck everyone!
