So this week I was out of town and playing catch-up leading in, so I’m not exactly sure where I can say I’m “surprised” or not, but, let’s take a look at a few people who are catching my eye:

Charles Howell III (28.9 GPP 42.9 Cash) – Highest owned player across the board (except note that in the $33 contest Justin Rose actually edged him out). The chalk to end all chalk, though! Howell is no stranger to this position, and he’s typically delivered.

David Toms (11% GPP, 30% Cash) – A fairly large split here, I heard there was naturally some chatter about the Louisiana native coming in. This cash game ownership is extremely significant, he’s the fourth-most owned player. I think the 11% in GPP is palatable though, for sure.

Luke List (11.8% GPP, 25.5% Cash) – Another decent gap, I believe again people responding to widely touted players. I find his rise particularly fascinating … Luke List I think won a couple of Monday qualifiers in a row or in the same month? Which really impressed me … and he’s steadily been playing better ever since. I am interested to see where the height of his production and popularity will be!

Smylie Kaufman (19.8% GPP, 18% Cash)LSU alum, getting to break in a marquee price tag … and people did not seem to be scared! He fits with his salary-peers here, for sure, if not better, but I think this is a weaker field than most people are giving credit … it is remarkably weak outside of the top three in my opinion, and Smylie is probably in a group of the next-best golfers, but I don’t think that will continue to be the case in a more normal PGA Tour event.

Good luck everyone!
