NEW: PGA Splits Advanced Data Picks and Analysis: WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational

The PGA Tour returns from the Olympic break and heads to Memphis, Tennessee, beginning the final stretch of five events that will culminate with the Tour Championship. The WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational comes back to TPC Southwind for the third time. It is a “no-cut” event that has a 66-player field and will feature 48 of the top 50 players in the world. While it does not have the prestige of a major tournament, fans and fantasy players alike will nonetheless be rewarded with another highly competitive event with a very strong field on a course littered with doglegs, bunkers, and water hazards.

Built on the remnants of a dairy farm, TPC Southwind is a par-70, 7,233-yard course that contains undulating zoysia fairways, gnarly Bermuda rough, and Champion Bermuda greens. It features 11 holes with doglegs, over 90 bunkers, and 10 holes with water directly in play. Adding additional intrigue to the event this year is the fact that 19 players are making the 14-hour journey to Memphis from the Olympic event in Tokyo, Japan. As for key stats related to the tournament and the course setup – fairway accuracy, Par 4 scoring, and good Bermuda putting history will be crucial. With only two Par 5s on the course, scoring will be more difficult, making stats like Birdie or Better% (BoB) very significant.
