I didn’t catch much of the first round due to being more interested in the back of my eyelids than the television, but we already have a star-studded leaderboard. Hideki Matsuyama came out of the gates firing, as he posted a 63 and currently holds a two-shot lead over Xander Schauffele. Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, and Scottie Scheffler are all within striking distance. And remember, this is the only event all year where golfers will be actively fighting for 2nd and 3rd place, so this should be a fun weekend.
