PGA DFS Showdown Picks and Projections – Round 4
I was too busy being the chauffeur to my 8-year-old to catch any of the broadcast on Saturday, but I was surprised at how easy the course played. While the 30+ MPH gusts never showed up, we still had significant wind for most of the third round. Bay Hill showed why it is such a great finish. At one point on the back nine, Scottie Scheffler was trailing Will Zalatoris by 6 strokes. By the end of the day, Scheffler was tied for the lead and 2 shots ahead of Zalatoris. You can make birdies here, but you can just as easily make bogeys and double bogeys.
This is shaping up to be an excellent final round, as we have two major winners tied at the top of the leaderboard. There are two more major winners within 2 shots of the lead, and you can never count out Zalatoris on a difficult course. Given the fact that this isn’t a birdie-fest, scoring position points are more valuable than most weeks. This makes the top of the board more appealing, but we will see several golfers tumble down the board. With some potential rain in the morning, I like the idea of building balanced lineups — 3 early golfers and 3 late golfers or 4 early golfers and 2 late golfers. As is always the case with Round 4 showdown, any golfer not at the top of the leaderboard is going to fly under the radar in terms of ownership.
