PGA Value Breakdown: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Selecting the absolute best value out there is crucial to cruising to top of the leaderboards. PGA guru Josh “futureoffantasy” Culp dives into the player pool, picking out his favorite value options for the week’s tournament.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

It’s shaping up to be a sloppy week on the Monterey Peninsula as the PGA TOUR arrives for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Pre-tournament rains have softened the course and the temps are not expected to eclipse 60 degrees all week. It’s like we have an Open Championship breaking out.

A unique aspect of this event is that three courses are used before a 54-hole cut is made of just Top 60 and ties. When you’re narrowing a field of 156 golfers to just 60 then it becomes extremely tough to get 6-of-6 golfers through the cut line. That makes the Stars & Scrubs strategy very appealing so here are some of my favorite value plays to help fit in more stars.

Joel Dahmen ($7200 DK / $8900 FD / $12200 FDRFT)

Extremely popular last week but he flopped in the Arizona desert. He was inside the top 50 after each of his last 14 rounds before last week so I will forgive one bad round. Playing on the West Coast, I like this Washington native to rebound this week. Adding to his appeal, Dahmen shared the first-round lead here during his 2017 debut. He finished T48 that week and returned with a T55 last year. With low ownership on this West Coast ball-striker, I like him in GPPs and wouldn’t talk you out of him in cash lineups, either.
