PGA Value Breakdown: Fort Worth Invitational

Selecting the absolute best value out there is crucial to cruising to top of the leaderboards. PGA guru Josh “futureoffantasy” Culp dives into the player pool, picking out his favorite value options for the week’s tournament.

Fort Worth Invitational

Russell Henley ($7300 DK / $9400 FD / $13300 FDRFT)

Entering the week off back-to-back missed cuts, a return to Texas could be the cure he’s looking for. Look no further than his record at the Houston Open where he’s cracked five top 10s. That shows that he enjoys the conditions that are often found in Texas. Also in his favor is that Henley owns three career PGA TOUR titles. He won the Sony Open without any past experience, showing that he’s not afraid to take on a new course. For this bargain-bin salary you are getting winning upside with a career cuts-made ratio over 69 percent. Nice.

Charley Hoffman ($7900 DK / $10400 FD / $13500 FDRFT)

Colonial CC might not seem like an ideal fit on paper for Hoffman but his track record here shows he is 9-for-9 which suggests this classical layout fits his eye. Back at the 2015 Valero he said this, “It’s a demanding driving golf course, I think that’s one of my strengths is driving the golf ball in play. And I think that sorts of fits my eye off the tee, and it gives me the ability to attack once I get it in play.” Keeping the ball in play is vital as Colonial, as well. Hoffman has posted accuracy numbers better than the field in three of his last four starts. From a long-term look, he’s easily a top-20 golfer in this field but on DK and FDRAFT he’s much lower down the totem pole.
