PGA Value Breakdown: Genesis Open
Selecting the absolute best value out there is crucial to cruising to top of the leaderboards. PGA guru Josh “futureoffantasy” Culp dives into the player pool, picking out his favorite value options for the week’s tournament.
Genesis Open
The second Tiger Week of 2018 is upon us this week, which is great for the contest sizes but doesn’t help us in terms of value. Tiger will always be higher priced in the betting markets which means he will continue to have a high DK salary.
If you want to roster Tiger or any other high-priced stars, you’ll need to fill out your roster with a few value plays.
Here are some of my favorites this week:
Jason Kokrak ($7500 DK / $9100 FD / $13200 FDRFT)
This big hitter is more than half-a-stroke better on poa annua greens, versus his baseline. That’s enough to put him on our radar but then we can dive into his past performance at Riviera CC. Most important is his 2016 appearance here. He opened with rounds of 68-64 to find himself in sole possession of the lead. It was actually his first 36-hole lead on the PGA TOUR, which I’m sure he doesn’t forget. He ended up losing to Bubba Watson but he returned last year to finish T22. Most importantly, he’s circled FOUR eagles in his last three visits here, including a pair of eagles last year. Someone that should outproduce golfers in his same finishing bracket.
