PGA Value Breakdown: WGC-Mexico Championship

Selecting the absolute best value out there is crucial to cruising to top of the leaderboards. PGA guru Josh “futureoffantasy” Culp dives into the player pool, picking out his favorite value options for the week’s tournament.

WGC-Mexico Championship

Heading back to poa annua greens, it’s time to head south of the border for this week’s WGC-Mexico Championship.

The cream usually rises to the top in these WGC events. We also get four guaranteed rounds, which means Stars and Scrubs will be very popular this week.

Whether you load up on value plays or just need one or two value picks, here are some of my favorites this week:

Patrick Cantlay ($8700 DK / $10000 FD / $15100 FDRFT)
Continues to rack up steady finishes but also has winning upside (evidence: this year’s Shriners). Despite the steady results he continues to be priced outside the top 10 in these stronger fields. As a California native, these poa annua greens should suit him fine. On FanDuel he’s the 19th priced golfer but he provides value across all sites this week. This course takes the driver out of hands which doesn’t look to be an issue for Cantlay as he ranks 6th in the field in strokes gained per round on less-than-driver courses (since 2014).
