PGA Weekly Course Analysis: Greenbrier Classic

Each week, Sean O’Donnell will break down the course in detail to figure out which golfers will be in the best position to succeed.

Greenbrier Classic

We jump this week from celebrating our nation’s capital to celebrating our military and our favorite summer holiday – the Fourth of July! The host of the party is just a few miles up the road at The Greenbrier in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. A familiar PGA Tour host, the Greenbrier is hosting for the second time after being canceled due to extreme flooding. A tournament that hosts a decidedly sub-par field every year with most big names opting to rest up and/or spend time with family, we have been entertained by some decidedly sub-par champions here in the past! Let’s take a look at what our challengers have in store!

Old White TPC:

Par: 70
Length: 7287
Scoring average per round: -0.35
Chances of bogey free round (field): 4.6%
Best opportunities for 3-birdie streak (field): 16-17-18
Best chances for eagle: #12
Projected Cut: E
Key Holes: 12
