PGA Weekly Course Analysis: John Deere Classic

Each week, Sean O’Donnell will break down the course in detail to figure out which golfers will be in the best position to succeed.

John Deere Classic

Alright! Buckle up boys and girls, we’re going low again this week. One of the most scoreable courses on TOUR is the TPC John Deere in Silvis, IL – which will host this week’s John Deere Classic. Midwestern heroes such as Zach Johnson and Steve Stricker have held their own here in the past, but their success may have to do with more than just home cooking!

Let’s take a look as we warm up for the British Open at a course that is about as far removed from the test we’ll see next week as possible- except for maybe the potential weather conditions!

TPC John Deere:

Par: 71
Length: 7268
Scoring average per round: -1.5
Chances of bogey free round (field): 6.3%
Best opportunities for 3-birdie streak (field): 1-2-3-4 and, like, the whole back 9 almost.
Best chances for eagle: #2
Projected Cut: -3
Key Holes: 2, 17
