Valero Texas Open

Welcome back to Texas for the last of our zigzag tour of the state for the spring! This time we’re just outside San Antonio for the Valero Texas Open. Another “depressed” field as the long exhale after the Masters continues, we’ve got a long track with lots of wind gusts to challenge a thin field of “stars” and a LOT of guys who we’re going to be looking at closely for the first time. So, let’s dig into the numbers!

TPC San Antonio Oaks Course:

Par: 72
Length: 7435
Scoring average per round: +1.2
Chances of bogey free round (field): 1.2%
Best opportunities for 3-birdie streak (field): scoring holes are spread out. Some chance 16-17-18
Best chances for eagle: #14
Projected Cut: +2
Key Holes: #1, 8, 14, 18
