Valero Texas Open
Okay folks, it’s the PGA Tour’s version of Christmas Eve- the week before the Masters! And what is our present!? TPC San Antonio and the Valero Texas Open! This breaks a run of several years of the Houston Open preceding the Masters, and also some guys who always play the week before are notably absent (Phil, to name one). The Houston Open was tailored to try to “mimic” the conditions of the Masters, as ridiculous of a notion as that may be- with fast greens, etc. This week will … not be like that! Let’s dig into the details …
TPC San Antonio:
Par: 72
Length: 7340
Scoring average per round: +1.2
Chances of bogey free round (field): 1.2%
Best opportunities for 3-birdie streak (field): none
Best chances for eagle: 14
Projected Cut: +2
Key Holes: #1, 2, 13
