2024 Procore Championship Forecast and Projections

We’re teeing off for the Procore Championship in Napa, CA this week. It’s perfect weather for playing golf and/or drinking wine…whichever you’d prefer.

As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Procore Championship Weather Forecast

Thursday, September 12th

Starting things off nice. Dry weather, mild temps, and light winds. Winds in the morning will be between 5-10 mph and by the afternoon should climb to 10 mph sustained with stronger gusts.

Friday, September 13th

Same pattern as Thursday (calm winds in the AM, light winds in the afternoon), but winds are even lower and should only peak in the afternoon between 5-10 mph sustained.

Saturday, September 14th

Same deal…great golfing weather. 0-5 mph winds early; 5-10 mph through the afternoon.

Sunday, September 15th

Most similar to Thursday, with light morning winds and a touch of an afternoon breeze, sustained around 10 mph with stronger gusts.

Procore Championship Weather Thoughts

The “strongest” winds come Thursday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. I have the slightest preference for a Thursday AM / Friday PM build, but I don’t think it’s a huge deal. I also think Sunday morning is slightly better off than Sunday afternoon, but again, I’d stress that even the strongest wind time frame looks perfectly manageable.
