Procore Championship Weather Report and Forecast

PGA golfer Cameron Young

This week we’re headed to Napa, California for the Procore Championship. The weather for most of the tournament is fine as wine.

As usual in my PGA weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts.

With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another.

You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on the best DFS sites.

Procore Championship Weather Forecast

Thursday, September 11th

Our only day with any rain chances, but still overall a solid enough day for golf. We should see some morning fog, with a chance for a stray shower at any point. The main forecast note here is that winds are essentially calm in the morning (0-5 mph) and only increase to 5-10 mph max winds by the afternoon.

Friday, September 12th

A bit of fog early, but another day with nice light winds. Calm (0-5 mph) winds early, light (5-10 mph) winds in the afternoon.

Saturday, September 13th

We are running back the same weather pattern each day, which means some morning fog with calm winds early and light (5-10 mph) winds in the afternoon.

Sunday, September 14th

Another day with great weather; after some morning fog, we’ll clear out and get to enjoy afternoon sunshine and the same wind pattern of calm winds in the morning and light winds in the afternoon.

Procore Championship Weather Thoughts

Thursday is mildly interesting with the chance for a stray shower, but it’s unlikely to be a real issue. After that it’s just the same day on repeat, and despite some morning fog each day, the light winds will make for great golfing weather. I don’t see any weather advantage to be had here.
