Rankings Update 6/15: New Formula In Action!
Welcome to the first edition of the rankings update with the new and improved rankings formula. It’s all baseball, all the time now so any movement or commotion you see atop the leaderboard is a function of the MLB season. Baseball experts of daily fantasy will be showing their grit and winning some cash through the dog days of summer. We have a slightly special version of the rankings update, with a focus on the top-5 players in the new rankings, the players who moved up the board more than 5 places this week and a shoutout to the top NHL player of the 2011-2012 season. Big congrats to the LA Kings on their Stanley Cup Victory, they definitely seem like they will be partying hard with it(look up their party on Wednesday night, if you don’t know what I am referring to.) Alright so let’s break the rankings down and see what changes are worthy of a Grinders Leaderboard shoutout.
Top 5 Players With The New Formula
The Top-5 players on the Grinders Leaderboard remained pretty much the same as it was before the rankings formula change. Five guys that have just won a boat load of money over the past 12 months. BrettFavre444 maintains the top spot, Beermakersfan is chasing him in second and Maxdalury slides in at third. The four and five spot belong to former #1’s Rudzia555 and Condia. There’s your top five players of the new leaderboard and the five guys every DFS player aspires to be(at least monetarily.)
Movement in the Top 25
One of the things I try to emphasize when writing up these rankings reports is the increasing difficulty to improve your ranking the higher up you go. As you reach the Top 25 players, you are joining an echelon of guys who are probably playing high stakes every night and are thus going to be difficult to take down. So the players who are able to make moves within that top twenty-five deserve some special recognition. This week, we had one player able to move within the top 10 and that was Dinkpiece who displaced Whits23 for 7th place overall. Moving up to 11th this week was Hixvillehunk, who definitely prides himself on his daily fantasy baseball game. TurdFerguson and GeneralV each moved up one spot to #16 and #17 respectively. And Csuram88 had the biggest jump, of three places, in the Top 25 by moving into 23rd place overall. Congrats go out to all of you.
Movers and Shakers
This week, since it is the first official rankings update with the new formula, I decided to give shout outs to all of the players who moved up 5 places or more in the Top 100. The biggest jump of the week goes to BlueStem89 who moved to 47th place overall with an incredible 15 place jump. Big props to BlueStem89. The second biggest jump of the week belongs to Nbarlotta who used a 12 spot jump to find himself in 31st place overall. The only other double-digit jump was an 11 place move made by Sojerseyhustler from 49th place to 38th overall. Other big weeks of note came from Nexten27 who moved up 9 spots, Btjordan23, Beastin and Nofear who all moved 8 spots up, Congrats to all of these players on their money-making weeks!

NHL Seasonal Champion
Drumroll please…our NHL seasonal champion is…Rudzia55! Ok the drumroll doesn’t work as well in a blog but you got the point. Anyways, Rudzia55 ran away with the NHL championship this season, nearly tripling the GLB score of the 2nd place finisher. Congratulations to Rudzia55 on your NHL Grinders Seasonal Championship.
