Rankings Update 7/20: New Player on GLB Has Huge Day!
After a week off due to the All-Star Break, the RotoGrinders Rankings Update is back with a good amount of news regarding some of the biggest and hottest players around all of daily fantasy sports. The biggest headline of the week has to be that 5 players dropped over 10 places on the leaderboard, a record since I’ve started doing these ranks updates in the past 8 months or so. But these updates aren’t intended to disrespect someone who hit a cold streak, but rather congratulate those players who hit a hot streak! And there was plenty of that, with 7 players moving up within or into the Top 25, three jumps of 8 or more, and one new player who had a HUGE night on DraftStreet that we will discuss. So let’s get to it!
Top 25 Update
As I mentioned before, 7 players were able to better themselves within the Top-25 elite Grinders around. Hester8157 stands tallest out of the moves in the Top-25 this week, moving to 11th from 12th last week. GeneralV closely followed with a similar one place jump from 14th to 13th. Turdferguson and BJBJ also moved one spot within the Top-25, jumping up to 16th and 23rd respectively. Multiple place jumps in this top category of players went to Csuram88 and Bluestem89 who each moved 2 places up the board to 17th and 20th. The last notable in the Top-25 was mbomb44 who, after weeks of noteworthy play, has finally found himself in 25th place. Let’s see if he can continue to hang around with the big guns! Movers, Shakers and New Players on the GLB
After a few weeks of updating some smaller jumps up the leaderboard, we finally have a good amount of action in the top-25 to 100 range. 4 players made moves of 8 places or more and one new player had a pretty incredible Sunday before the All-Star Break. First, the movers and shakers need their dues though. A hot player of late, Beastin continues to climb the board week-in and week-out as he moves from 88th to 80th place. In weeks past, that 8 place jump would be good enough for 2nd best or maybe even 1st, but it was only the 4th biggest jump in this update. Reignonu had the third biggest jump of the week, and rounds out the players under double-digits in movement. He moved from 45th place to 36th and now finds himself with an outside shot of a Top-25 appearance in the next few weeks. In second place this week, in terms of movement, is one of the Grinders I see being immensely successful for a long time to come. TomG continues to make big moves, advancing 12 more places up the board to find himself in 61st. This is just a couple of short weeks after joining the GLB for the first time. Definitely look out for TomG in your DS leagues and on the leaderboard. But not even the red-hot TomG could take home our biggest jump of the week, because Sprtsnut4ever was busy moving all the way from 93rd place to 77th! A huge week for Sprtsnut4ever and big congrats to him on having the biggest jump in this update!
Headline Story: New Player Has Huge Day
Now to the business of the only new player on the leaderboard. Before unveiling the name, why don’t I tell you a little story of just how big of a Sunday, July 8th this guy had. The day before the All-Star break, as DFS players piled into leagues hoping to get one last taste of daily fantasy play before four long days off, Grinder Jimpie went HUGE. He won the DraftStreet $109 GPP for a cool $1075 by coming in 1st out of the 30 entrants. He also took 1st place out of the 50 competitors in the $22 DraftStreet GPP. Jimpie put up 2 of his biggest wins ever in a 24 hour time span. The hardest part has to be taking four days off after that incredible day, but it might have actually been good because every Grinder knows, when you get hot it is awful easy to waste a lot of money.

BrettFavre444 has taken the monthly championship for the past few months, but as it stands right now, TomG is one big week away from stealing July. BrettFavre444 has a score of just over 650 on the monthly board and TomG is his closest competition with around 550. Overcoming the 100 point deficit won’t be easy, but it certainly is possible.
