Rankings Update 7/27: BirdWings #1 For July!

After a few weeks off from the RG Rankings updates we are back in full swing and ready to break down the best and brightest in the daily fantasy world. Today’s article features a month of July taken down by #3 overall BirdWings along with a TPOY update (breaking news, naapstermaan increased his already massive lead) and a look at the MLB Leaderboard where Ehafner continues to hold down the top spot.

Big shoutouts to Keith3101, thinair, and boomboom who are all first timers to the GLB. Oddly enough they all round out the final 3 spots of the Top-100 which I don’t think I’ve ever seen before in our rankings! Either way, big props to these players who are absolutely on fire and keep that hustle going as MLB winds down.

Obviously the biggest notable here is that tshirt jumped a whopping 27 places over the past few weeks and cemented his place within the top-100. At the time of the last update tshirt was hanging on a thread in the Top-100 overall but his mammoth move guarantees he’ll be a name on the overall leaderboard for a good while longer.

The runner up for biggest move was dips56 who jumped an impressive 11 places to 34th overall and now stands just 9 outside that Top-25 level. Bripc23, Naapstermaan, BtJordan23 and UFBigslick all also moved up into the 25-40 range and are now within reach of a Top-25 slot. Grinders Live Host AlSmizzle and Weekend GL Host Emac also moved up in this update along with the man who hits you with the daily twitter insight, Bowens1984.

All of this players have been killing it so big props to everyone and I do apologize if I didn’t get you a specific shoutout.

Tournament Player of the Year Leaderboard

Naapstermaan somehow increased his TPOY lead after the DK MidSummer Classic take down for a cool $125,000. #2 AlSmizzle will surely be working hard to catch him though in next weekend’s DFBC. A $200K check could turn the tides and make this race a lot more entertaining. Then again the same could be said about the 3rd, 4th, and 5th overall players, PrimeTime420, Headchopper and Boggslite, who are both in Saturday’s DFBC main event as well!

In fact, 5 of the top 10 Grinders on the TPOY are in next week’s DFBC Finale!

JULY 2013 Leaderboard

Last month, Ehafner was able to edge out Birdwings for the Monthly Leaderboard award. This month, BirdWings responded by just edging out Ehafner in one of the closer monthly races in recent history. These two are absolute H2H and 50/50 animals in MLB action and I can’t wait to see which one (or which dark horse) takes down the month of August!
