2024 RBC Canadian Open Forecast and Projections

We’re teeing off for the RBC Canadian Open in Hamilton, Ontario…and the weather makes me want to spend a summer up in Canada.

ComboPGAcomparison

As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

RBC Canadian Open Weather Forecast

Thursday, May 30th

Things start off with an occasional gusty wind early, but all in all it will be nice weather. I expect about a 10-mph sustained wind early, with gusts of 15-20 mph. Those numbers will drop a hair by the afternoon, with sustained winds of 5-10 mph and gusts of 10-15 mph.

Friday, May 31st

Great weather all day. Dry, sunny, and light winds in the AM and PM.

Saturday, June 1st

The nice weather continues. I think we’re looking at winds which should start near calm, building to just 10 mph in the afternoon. About as good as you could realistically ask for.

Sunday, June 2nd

A chance for some rain to close things out, though it doesn’t look like a washout. Manageable winds.

RBC Canadian Open Weather Thoughts

All in all, excellent weather for the tournament. If you forced me to pick a draw, I guess I have the slightest of leans for a Thursday PM / Friday AM wave, but I don’t think you should force it into your build. Maybe use it as more of a tiebreaker.
