RBC Heritage Weather Report and Forecast
It’s going to be tough to follow up that Masters tournament! While the excitement at the RBC Heritage may not live up to the standard the Masters set, we do know the weather will be every bit as nice.
As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts.
With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another.
You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on the best DFS sites.
RBC Heritage Weather Forecast
Thursday, April 17th
Great day for golf. Calm winds early, gradually climbing to around 10 mph winds in the afternoon.
Friday, April 18th
A bit breezier than Thursday. We’ll see light 5-10 mph winds in the morning, climbing to 10-15 mph winds in the afternoon with wind gusts around 20 mph. Not overpowering winds, but noteworthy ones at least.
Saturday, April 19th
We should see a similar pattern here of lighter AM winds, gradually building a bit over 10 mph by the afternoon.
Sunday, April 20th
Closing things out with the same overall weather setup. Lighter winds in the morning, a bit of a breeze in the afternoon.
RBC Heritage Weather Thoughts
Pretty solid conditions all tournament long. I have a slight preference for a Thursday PM / Friday AM draw, as it helps you avoid the 20 mph wind gusts on Friday afternoon, but either wave has its advantages, and I don’t think weather will make or break you.
