RG Wins FanDuel Partners Basketball Championship
Throughout the past month, FanDuel has been running the FPBC a nine-team NBA DFS contest between affiliated content providers, to see which website is the top fantasy basketball projector in the industry.
The contest consisted of 10 slates with each taking place on a Wednesday or Friday, as those typically have the larger quantity of NBA teams playing. Each respective player/content provider was allowed to drop their two lowest scores, thus resulting in the aggregate of their eight best scores to determine the overall winner. Representing RotoGrinders was none other than Derek “Notorious” Farnsworth.
Derek got off to a ROUGH start, to say the least. Day 1 started out with an immediate tilt after Derrick Rose was a late scratch, putting RotoGrinders in second-to-last place. Day 2 was even worse following a posted total lineup score of 29.20 points. No, that isn’t a typo, and no, there wasn’t one NHL slate thrown into the mix of the FPBC. That’s a sub-30 NBA score from an auto-selected dummy lineup because Derek forgot to make a lineup. Dad life!
Despite the early struggles, Derek was able to pull a true dark-horse moment by rattling off eight solid outings in a row, including four 300+ FD point performances in the last five weeks to claim the FPBC for RotoGrinders! The prize? $500 cash as well as a trip for two to the FanDuel Playboy Championship in June, held at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, California.

Be sure you give Derek a shoutout on Twitter or in the message boards here. Not only is winning a contest like this difficult to do, pulling it off after that rocky of a start is a true testament to his skills as a DFS player and as a content provider here at RotoGrinders.
Here’s what Notorious had to say about the contest:
“The FPBC was a terrific experience and we have to thank FanDuel for putting on a great contest. It was fun battling with some of the best fantasy sports content sites out there and I was honored to be able to represent RotoGrinders. We got off to a very rocky start after a Derrick Rose late scratch and a “Derek forgot to put in a lineup” incident. Luckily, the lowest two scores were dropped from the contest and Team RG was able to rally and walk away with a win.”
Thanks to FanDuel for putting on another top-notch event!
