Rise & Grind: April 14th, 2014

Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off on the right foot with yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the the upcoming day in the world of DFS.
So kick back, grab your first cup of coffee, and catch up on the latest news!
In Case You Missed It
- Bubba, Grinders Win the Masters – Bubba Watson won his second Masters in just three years this past weekend, as he finished with a 3 stroke lead over the rest of the field. 20 year old Jordan Speith also had a great showing, as he tied for second place at 5 under par. On the DFS side of things, a couple grinders took down some big scores with all the PGA GPPs around the industry. On DraftKings, baloo3101 (Grinders username Keith3101) took down first and fifth place to cash in for a cool $107,500. A few other grinders rounded out the top 10, including TheTakeOVER, csuram88, and TheEmpireMaker. The DraftStreet Big Score was taken down by msidla, which surprises exactly no one. msidla also took down first and fifth place, for a score of $23,500. Good showing Grinders!
- PFBC Qualifer – A Grinder also took down the $530 PFBC Qualifier last night, as Jae686 dominated the field, scoring 40 points more than the second place team. Although he isn’t new to DFS, it seems like he is fairly new to StarStreet, since his profile only goes back to April 6th. We all know the players over on SS are top notch, which makes it even more impressive that he was able to win the way he did. Congrats Jae686!
Today’s Events
- Today’s Action – With the NHL season wrapping up and NBA regular season schedule winding down, the days of multi-sport DFS are numbered. Fret not though, because you still have a few more days of action if you’re so inclined. There is a 10 game schedule in the NBA tonight, and if I had to point out a Gary Oldman Fantasy Goodness Game of the Night(D4M), it would be Miami at Washington, because whenever these two teams play each other it always seems to be closer than I’d expect. There are only 9 games tonight in Major League Baseball, all of which are night games.
- Today’s GPP’s – DraftKings was so happy with the response to their $100k Perfect Game GPP that they’re doing it again tonight! $200 buy in and $25k to first makes it a pretty great tournament for just any ole’ Monday. FanDuel is running the $109 version of their DFBC qualifier tonight, with a max of 483 entries and the winner going to Vegas for their shot at a million. DraftStreet has two $10,000 guaranteed tournaments running tonight at $22 and $109 buy in levels.
