So kick back, grab your first cup of coffee, and catch up on the latest news!
In Case You Missed It
- Huge DFBC Gamble Doesn’t Pay Off – The $109 qualifier ran last night and was taken down by Grinder 3putts with two mini stacks of the Braves and the Mets. Whoever thought that the Mets would give someone a shot at a million bucks!? The big story going into the night was a user by the name of kingofqueens, who had bought about 25% of the entries (this was last I checked, it could have been more). The investment didn’t pay off though, as he only had one entry in the top 20, and only 2 entries cashed.
- Home Run Derby in the MLB – It looked like batting practice in Philadelphia and Cincinnati last night. Between the two games there were 17 home runs, and the Pit/Cincy game didn’t even make it past the 7th inning! Two of the biggest stars were Atlanta’s catcher Evan Gattis, who hit two dongs, and second baseman Dan Uggla, who hit a monster Grand Slam in the 9th inning to give the Braves back their lead.
Today’s Events
- Tonight’s Action – We have a full 15 game schedule in MLB tonight, all of which begin on or after 7pm. These are the schedules we all love, because with so many options, the skill aspect of DFS truly shows. Unfortunately baseball is the only sport you’ll find any real action on tonight. There are only 2 games in the NBA and 3 games in the NHL this evening, so baseball looks like the way to go.
- Today’s GPP’s – There are some pretty big tournaments around baseball tonight. On FanDuel there is a $125k version of their Monster tournament, with a $200 buy in and $20k to first place. They are also running the $25 level Strikout, which posts a $60k prize pool. DraftKings announced today it is running a “Crossover-esque” version of it’s Payoff Pitch tournament tonight. $27 entry fee and the top 50 places win $1,000. All aboard! They are also running the second Fantasy Baseball Championship qualifier tonight at a $200 buy in with the winner taking home a trip to Atlantis for their epic finals event.
