Rise & Grind: April 1st, 2014

Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off on the right foot with yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the the upcoming day in the world of DFS.
So kick back, grab your first cup of coffee, and catch up on the latest news!
In Case You Missed It
- stlcardinals84 Steps Away – After a mopping the floor in every GPP on DraftKings last night, STL made an announcement on twitter that he is retiring from DFS to spend more time with his family. Of course we’re very sad to see him go, but it’s hard to blame him. He has had an unbelievable DFS career, but family is always priority number one. We wish you nothing but the best, Cards!
- RotoGrinders Adds a BIG Name to its Host Team – The one, the only, Condia has agreed to join the RG team as a host of our flagship show, GrindersLive! You heard it right folks, the most famous man in DFS is finally breaking the silence to bring you baseball advice all season long. You can find Condia on the 5:30 show on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Today’s Events
- Guess What Day it is? – If you believed anything in this article so far, I have a friend who’s stuck in Yugoslavia and had his wallet stolen. He just needs you to send him $2,000 to help pay for a new passport and a flight home. April Fools!
- Tonight’s Action – After an action packed Opening Day, we get to look forward to a 9 game schedule tonight. This time the games are all later in the evening, so no need to rush for to get ready for the 1PM games. The ARod-less Yankees open up their 2014 season when they take on the Astros, and now you get to enjoy the game with that scarring image of Rodriguez seared in your mind.
- Today’s GPP’s – FanDuel is running the first of its Qualifiers for the $3m DFBC tonight! This one is a $10 buy in, with a cap of 5271 entires that pays out the top 330 spots and sends the winner to Vegas for the tourney of a lifetime and a shot at a million bucks. Oh yeah, and they also have a $70k Strikeout running with $9,000 to first. No big deal. DraftKings is running two $50k baseball GPPs, one at a $109 buy in and the other running at $27. There are also a few GPPs running over on DraftStreet, including a $10k $55 buy in and a $5k $2 buy in tournament.
