So kick back, grab your first cup of coffee, and catch up on the latest news!
In Case You Missed It
- Weekend Qualifiers – It was a pretty packed weekend in terms of final event qualifiers. StarStreet ran a $530 version of the PFBC qualifier as well as the final round of their Streak to the Mansion tournament. naapsterman and McJester, both well-known Grinders and tournament gurus, took down those two events. These guys are two of the most dangerous GPP players out there, so they’re sure to make some noise at the final event. On Friday night, a Grinder by the username of rubble44 (who also turns out to be duckiesuccumbs’ brother!) took down the $10 DFBC Qualifier on FanDuel to win himself a trip to Vegas for the final event. Grinders were all over this qualifier, taking 7 of the top 10 spots, including a 2nd and 8th place finish from stlcards and a 3rd place finish from emac. Well done guys! Finally, DraftKings had the third qualifer for it’s final even in Atlantis, which was taken down by aslsportsgroup. He isn’t a Grinders member, but he’s a very active player over there, so congrats to him. Once again the top 10 of this event was riddled with Grinders, with a Grinder taking every spot from second to ninth place.
- Upset City in the NBA Playoffs – Three out of the first four games of the playoffs were underdog wins for the road team, including a decisive victory for the Atlanta Hawks over the Indiana Pacers. The final score only showed an 8 point difference, but the game wasn’t even really that close. The Thunder were the only team on that first night that were able to take advantage of their home court. It’s a long series, but it should be interesting to see which teams can get back on track as we move into Game 2 before travelling to the home court of the underdog teams.
Today’s Events
- Today’s Action – The NBA and NHL playoffs continue tonight. On the hockey side of things there are four games on the schedule, including a matchup between the Blues and the Blackhawks. Unfortunately for them, the Blackhawks will be without defensemen Brent Seabrook for the next three games due to his brutal hit on Blues captain David Backes in the last game. There are 13 games on the schedule in baseball today, including a lone early game between the Orioles and the Red Sox that starts at 11:05am Eastern. Other than that one game, the rest start at 7pm.
- Today’s GPP’s – DraftStreet is the only major site that has contests including the early game today, so if you wanted to use players from that game be sure to hop over there this morning. Other than that, FanDuel has a $125,000 Monster running tonight at a $200 buy in with $20k going to first place. They also have a $35k Strikeout running and their $109 qualifier to the DFBC. Over on DraftKings there is a $200 buy in $100k perfect pitch that awards $25k to first and pays out about the top 20%.
