Rise & Grind: April 24th, 2014

I had to bring back a slightly modified version of last week’s image in honor of Cards today. The thought just popped into my head, so I threw it together. I love how it came out!
Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off on the right foot with yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the the upcoming day in the world of DFS.
So kick back, grab your first cup of coffee, and catch up on the latest news!
In Case You Missed It
- Cards Slays the Monster – In case you were wondering why I made that awesome image, here it is. This is stlcardinalsfan84’s world, and we’re just living in it. The guy is absolutely unreal lately. Last night he didn’t just win the FanDuel Monster, he took down 1st, 3rd, 6th, AND 12th. He had a few other lower cashes, but those four alone brought in a $31,500 payday. As Dan Back would say, “That doesn’t suck.” Without doubt one of the best DFS baseball players out there. Makes me giggle that people don’t believe baseball is a skill game.
- Another Trip to Vegas – The $270 FanDuel qualifier ran last night, and it was taken down by user cheeseisgood. Surprise: he stacked the BAL/TOR game. I will say though, I’m pretty intrigued by his name. It seems pretty self explanitory, but I can’t help but wonder if there’s some back story to it…
- Pine-tar-da Ejected – In a brilliant move by the Yankees starting pitcher went out to the mound with a nice heap ‘o pine tar on the back of his neck. John Farrell asked the home plate umpire to check him for illegal substances, and sure enough, he was ejected after just 1.2 innings pitched. Pineda now faces a 10 game suspension, and is frankly just plain stupid. Here’s hoping you didn’t use him in your lineups last night.
Today’s Events
- Today’s Action – Overall we have a pretty light schedule today, which is to be expected on a Thursday. There are only 11 baseball games on the slate, and 6 of them are early games. Meanwhile, the NBA and NHL playoffs are both going strong, with three games in each sport.
- Today’s GPP’s – Much like tonight’s schedules, the lineup of GPPs is a bit on the light side. DraftKings is running a $50k Perfect Game as well as a $30k NBA Crossover. Meanwhile, FanDuel has both early and late versions of their $25 Strikeout tournament running at $25k and $40k guaranteed, respectively.
