Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off on the right foot with yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the the upcoming day in the world of DFS.
So kick back, grab your first cup of coffee, and catch up on the latest news!
In Case You Missed It
- Party Like it’s 2004 – After taking care of the Gators and choppin’ down some trees, the UConn Men and Women’s teams will both play in National Championship games over the next few days. Winning dual championships is a feat so easy that only one team has ever been able to do it. Now if I could only remember what team that was…Oh wait, that’s right! It was also UConn, and now they’re in a position to do it again. Absolutely incredible. It wasn’t an easy road, as the Men had to face 1, 2, 3, and 4 seeds, while the Women are poised to go undefeated once again. Needless to say I feel like the guy in today’s gif, and I couldn’t be prouder of my Alma Mater. It’s a good day to be a member of Husky Nation!
- Grinders Grindin’ Seats – Over the weekend, two Grinders showed up big in baseball final event qualifiers. Bluestem89 took down a FanDuel qualifier to the DFBC for a trip to vegas and a shot at a million, and our very own headchopper took down a PFBC qualifier over on StarStreet to win a trip to the mansion for another one of the legendary Playboy parties. Well done gentlemen, reppin’ Grinder Nation!
- NBA Playoff Hunt Heats Up – With just a little over a week of regular season NBA basketball remaining, the fight for the
right to get blown out in the first serieslast few playoff spots gets pretty intense. 12 of the 16 playoff spots are already locked up, leaving 7 teams to fight for the remaining four. In the East, the Hawks have a 2 game lead on the next best Knicks, while the Mavericks, Suns, and Grizzlies are all within a game and a half of each other for the last to spots in the West. It should be fun to see how everything shakes out these last few games.
I’m understandably in a good mood today, so I’m gonna hit ya with a little dual gif action. Here’s a live action shot from the UConn/Florida game this weekend.
Today’s Events
- Tonight’s Action – Overall we’re looking at a pretty slow night in professional sports. The NBA is taking the night off for the National Championship game, and there are only three NHL games. There are 9 games on the schedule in baseball, but 5 of them are afternoon games, and one of them (Brewers/Phillies) has already been postponed, so make sure not to roster anyone from that game!
- Today’s GPP’s – Most sites have their GPPs broken into early and late game schedules for the MLB today. FanDuel is running a $30k strikeout, as well as the $270 version of the DFBC qualifier. Big entry fee, but you only have to beat 194 other people to win your seat. DraftKings has a High Heat and Payoff Pitch tournament for both game sets, as well as a number of qualifiers to their other upcoming games. And of course DraftStreet has various sized tournaments for today’s baseball action running from $3k to $6k in prizes.
