Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here with yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the the upcoming DFS day.

Grab your first cup of coffee and catch up on the latest news!

In Case You Missed It

  • NBA Action Last Night – Ton of NBA games last night. Probably the biggest news of the night was Anthony Davis leaving after a shoulder injury. No word yet on his return. In last night’s marquee matchup, Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 23 points and 16 rebounds to a victory over the Rockets.

  • Last Night’s GPP Action – On an action packed Wednesday of DFS, Seducer took down the $55 DSBBC Q over on DraftStreet. Only three more chances to qualify over there. The first day of the DraftKings Showcase Final began last night with the field of 40 being whittled down to ten. PrimeTime420 wooooooed past the competition putting two of his entries in the Tremendous Ten. Maybe the biggest surprise was multi-entry winners Al_Smizzle, CSURam88, radthad and Muntradamus failed to have either of their teams reach the finals. Over on StarStreet, magicsportsguy became the latest qualifier for the Playboy Basketball Championship.

  • New TPOY Forumla – One of the exciting races in DFS, especially considering all the huge NFL prize pools at the end of the year is the Tournament Player of the Year. After much consulting with industry leaders, the team at RotoGrinders has decided to re-vamp the TPOY formula. Cal explains the reason for the change over here in the forums: Changes to 2014 TPOY Requirements

Today’s Events

  • NHL Action Tonight – Tonight is a HUGE NHL night in the DFS world. The $100,000 Breakaway is running on DraftKings tonight. Featuring a $109 buy-in and $12k to first place. The contest is currently under half full, but I would guess many people with tickets still need to register. For those of you that didn’t qualify, and don’t want to shell out the $109 buy-in, they are running a $12 Medium Breakaway and a $2 Mini Breakaway. FanDuel is also running the $40,000 Hat Trick tournament tonight, with a $100 buy-in and $8,000 to first place.

  • Daily Fantasy Fix Podcast With RussARMNY – Dan welcomes the $50k NBA Big Score Winner, RussARMNY onto the podcast, in which he assures me is a highly entertaining interview.

About the Author

  • Curtis Brodzina (DillingerFour)

  • Curtis DillingerFour Brodzina considers himself the Dave Barry Rick Reilly of DFS. He tries to find the humorous side of the sports world. An avid Penn State, Broncos and Pens fan, he fades Kunitz way too often. RotoGrinder’s own Cal had these poignant words for him as he was lamenting his last place finish in the RotoGrinders FreeRoll Bowl: “Nobody expects you to win D4, they just expect you to be funny.”
