Rise & Grind: March 31st, 2014

Happy Opening Day Grinders! Mother Nature is playing a sick joke on me this morning, because I woke up all excited for baseball and what do I see when I look outside? Freaking SNOW! But nothing is going to get me down today, because we’re less than 6 hours away from the first pitch of the season!
Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off on the right foot with yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the the upcoming day in the world of DFS.
So kick back, grab your first cup of coffee, and catch up on the latest news!
In Case You Missed It
- McJester McOwns the Playboy Mansion – In today’s gif, McJester is the treadmill and the poor guy on it is the rest of us schmucks. We all knew Mickey-J was a monster, but he raised the bar just a little bit more this weekend. Out in LA, StarStreet held it’s PBC this past weekend, and in a feild swarming with the best DFS minds in the industry, McJester didn’t just win. No no, that would have been too easy. He took 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd, and took home $82,500 in prizes. Incredible.

- And Then There Were Four – Another awesome weekend in the best sporting event of the year, and the worst analyst in sports, Charles Barkley is eating some crow after my UConn Huskies took down the Michigan State Spartans! They’re now on their way to North Texas to take
outon (objective reporting, right) the 1 seed Florida Gators. On the other half of the bracket, Wisconsin edged out Arizona in overtime and Kentucky narrowly beat out Michigan. The Final Four is set, and the only two teams that have beaten consensus favorite Florida this year, UConn and Wisconsin, are still alive.
Today’s Events
- Tonight’s Action – I’m not quite sure if I mentioned this yet, but BASEBALL IS BACK BABY! 13 games on the schedule today ranging all the way from 1pm to 10pm EST start times. There should be plenty of dongs to go around today! However, baseball isn’t the only sport with a big schedule tonight, because there are still 10 games on the slate in the NBA. Philly finally broke the streak and won a game, but that doesn’t mean they’re any good. There should be plenty of
awful basketballfantasy goodness tonight as they take on the Hotlanta Hawks. And if you’re feelin’ extra frisky today, you can get some 3-sport action going, because there are still 4 games in the NHL this evening. That’s right boys and girls, we have the rare opportunity for the DFS Triforce tonight!
- Today’s GPP’s – With all the massive guarantees being offered today it looks like there is the potential for some massive overlay. FanDuel is running the $100k Strikeout with a $25 buy in and $15k to first. At the time of the writing it is barely over half full. Over on DraftKings, there are not one, but two $100k GPPs, and that isn’t even counting the rest of the $500k in guaranteed tournaments they’re running. The $109 High Heat and the $27 Payoff Pitch are both sitting at just about 1/4 full as of right now. Of course we can’t forget about our friends over at DraftStreet who are running two $20k GPPs, both of which are less than half full at the moment. Last, but not least, StarStreet is having it’s first two qualifiers for the PFBC today, including a super affordable $22 Streak to the Mansion that also has quite a bit of overlay at the moment. You won’t find a cheaper opportunity to win a trip to the most epic party in DFS. Oh yeah, and all of this is only including the baseball GPPs!
