In Case You Missed It

• Qualifiers – The insane weather made last night pretty scary for anyone playing a large amount of cash, but there was still plenty of money to be won for those willing to risk it. All three of the major sites ran a qualifier to their championship event last night, and 2 out of 3 of them were won by Grinders. Kuperman took down the $535 buy in DFBC Qualifier on FanDuel, and stinger88 took down the $22 buy in DSBC Qualifier on DraftStreet. All three qualifiying players had what was deemed as the #1 starting pitcher (after Darvish was scratched) in Zack Greinke, who tossed 7.2 innings, allowing 8 hits, 3 ERs, but netting 11 Ks and the win.

• Thunder Tie it Up – After struggling mightily the past few games, OKC tied up the series with the Spurs at two games a piece last night. The resurgence is due in large part to the return of Serge Ibaka, who missed a few games with what many people had assumed was a season ending calf injury. Ibaka only scored 9 points in 35 minutes, but that doesn’t tell the whole story because the Thunder are a different team with Ibaka on the court. Sure, having Serge back adds another threat that the Spurs need to guard, but his real value seems to come on the defensive side of the ball, as he pulled in 7 defensive rebounds and blocked 3 shots. Game 5 will be played in San Antonio tomorrow night.

Today’s Events

• Tonight’s Action – Game 5 between the Heat and the wet-noodle-looking Pacers tips off at 8:30 PM tonight, and the Heat have a chance to close out the series and punch their ticket to the Finals. Let’s see if Lance has any more trash talk about Lebron’s trash talking before this one. In the Major Leagues, we have a bit of a split schedule today, so be sure to check the set up on your favorite DFS site. The Pirates and Mets kick off the day at 1:10 PM, but there are only 3 early games, so you might want to stay away from the early slate on non late swap sites since the MLB Lineups likely won’t be out yet for the later games.
