Rise & Grind: Tuesday, January 13th
Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we run over yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.
In Case You Missed It
We Came to Play Football – Sophomore Cardale Jones led the Ohio State Buckeyes to victory over Oregon last night. The R&G takes its job very seriously and always appreciates others who are serious about their craft. Naturally, the R&G is a big Cardale Jones fan. After all, he didn’t come here to play school. He came to play football, and it showed on the football field. The R&G would like to thank the electrifying QB for his commitment to excellence both on the field and on the field. We also wish him the best if he decides to take any classes.
Highest Scoring Night Ever – Due to recency bias, NBA DFS last night has officially been dubbed the highest scoring night ever. To be quite honest, every single player did well: Jennings (53), Davis (56.8), Valanciunas (45.4), Vucevic (51.2). I mean, pretty much everyone put up a 50 burger. If you played, you won. What’s that? You did play? You didn’t win? Who did you have?
Garn-It! I Picked That Guy – Oh, you had this guy! The least valuable pick of the night was none other than Kevin Garnett. The always fiery Garnett logged four minutes of action before being ejected for headbutting Dwight Howard. Garnett finished with a putrid 3.5 FPTS. Here at the R&G we would never advocate tweeting an athlete, even if he did “cost me thousands”. This type of rage tweet can never end well, as pro athletes have many followers and a much louder voice than you. Instead, the R&G recommends you send your rage to a different Kevin Garnett. For example, this one, who only has 162 followers. Actually, didn’t Garnett retire two years ago? Shame on you if you picked him. Tweet yourself a few rage tweets. It was you who cost you thousands. You are in the right place though my friend – we will right this ship. Stay tuned for today’s offerings here at RotoGrinders.
Ganondorf Wins Monster – Hang on friend, I’m almost done recapping last night. I know you are ready to move on. So am I, but first congratulations are in order to #9 ranked ganondorf, who took down the $70K Monster with a score of 352.2. Feel free to shoot him a congratulatory message if you see him around.
Today’s Events
On the Hardwood – Tonight’s NBA slate is a medium sized one which includes seven games. The contests include MIN/IND, ATL/PHI, SA/WAS, CLE/PHX, GS/UTA, DAL/SAC and MIA/LAL. FanDuel is running a $250K Slam and a $100K Monster, while DraftKings is running a $130K Crossover and a $100K 3-Ball
On the Ice – Tonight’s NHL slate includes 13 games. This is a welcome change, considering no more than three games have been played on any night since Saturday. You will want to get in on this action, as FanDuel is running a Hockey Championship Qualifier for only $5 among other contests. Not to be outdone, DraftKings is running a $30K Tuesday Spectacular for only a $20 entry and a $60K Breakaway for a $200 buy-in.
CBB Returns – Conference play continues with a hefty slate of intriguing college basketball matchups. Both FD and DK are running reasonably sized contests as a result.
