Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we sort through the yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.

In Case You Missed It

New RotoGrinders Tools – Here at RotoGrinders, we are constantly working to improve the tools you use every day. Yesterday was an exciting day on that front. Every day for the remainder of the season, when are there four or more games, ohnjz will bring you NBA Advanced Matchups. ohnjz will take a look at data from a variety of sources to highlight players in a prime matchup or even players you should avoid. If ohnjz’s new column doesn’t excite you, maybe our new filters will.

Have you ever looked at your lineup and wondered what could have been? What if I had simply picked anyone else besides Andrew Wiggins last night? With our new lineups page, you can scroll backwards and look at historical salaries, over/unders, and even RG projections (incentive members only). This tool should be helpful in reverse engineering your own lineup or even other people’s lineups. For example, if I want to see who I could have picked besides Wiggins last night, I can set the filters to 3/10, SF, $6800 or less. If you have any further questions about the new filters, feel free to join the discussion here.

DFS Timeline – Speaking of history, RotoGrinders is excited to announce DFS Timeline. If you joined DFS within the last year or two, you may not realize how much DFS has changed in a very short time. Jonan and the RG marketing team have attempted to highlight key events. If you have an event you would like to add, send Jonan a note with your event as well as the source. In case you are wondering, I already tried getting “The Day Condia disappeared from the lobby” added using Soulstealer’s Condia Forum Thread as a source. I didn’t have any luck on that. The source isn’t very good and the DFS Timeline is a 10-year history that only includes major events.

NBA Last Night – Alright, that’s enough about new tools. Let’s get down to what you really want to know. What happened in NBA last night? Giannis “The Alphabet” Antetokounmpo cooked up a 50-burger. I’m told that NBA Happy Hour hosts CrazyGabey and RadThad are not fans of the term “50-burger.” Since they insist on a different name, let’s call what Giannis did last night “Alphabet Soup.” If you didn’t have Antetokounmpo last night, I feel bad for you but, NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Chef Curry also cooked up an order of “54 Curry” while Anthony Davis aka “The Uni-brow” could not be stopped. The Brow poured in 43 points en route to 66 FanDuel points. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Hassan Whiteside proved yet again why he is one of the most volatile players in NBA DFS. Whiteside was ejected for this blindside shove on Kelly Olynyk. Soon, we may have to revisit Hassan’s nickname. We originally agreed on Hassan “Upside” but I wouldn’t complain if we changed it to Hassan “Blindside”, as he is just as likely to blindside you with a terrible score as he is to reach his upside.

On The Menu

NBA Tonight – The NBA has kindly balanced out the schedule for us this week. With the exception of ten games tomorrow, every night this week includes between five and nine games. Tonight, we are on the lower end of that spectrum with six games. Notorious has his First Look posted already. Later today, be on the lookout for the usual offerings including the Starting Five and NBA Grind Down. Before you get started on your teams, what you really need to know though is if any narratives exist tonight. Let’s take a quick stroll down #NarrativeStreet to find some picks with a little extra motivation.

Go ahead and start every team off with Quincy Pondexter tonight, it’s his #BirthdayGame. If it’s #revenge you seek, look no further than Jarrett Jack tonight. In 2009 Jack played for New Orleans. He was then exiled to Canada (Toronto to be exact). After only 13 games, Jack was then sent back to New Orleans. He didn’t catch on the second time around either. This is basically a double revenge game for Jack. You want him tonight.

NHL Tonight – With eight games on the schedule, tonight offers the largest NHL slate of the week. That’s good news if you are a fan of NHL DFS or even if you just enjoy the NHL content here at RG. Today offers a full set of NHL content including NHL Daily Plays by Boggslite, GPP Plays and the Frozen Five by Pepsi7, as well as The Daily Fantasy Faceoff at 3:30 PM on GrindersLive.

CBB Today – If you enjoy two-game sets, college basketball has something special for you today. Georgia Tech and Boston tip off this afternoon at 1 PM, followed by Virginia Tech at Wake Forest at 3 PM. Both FanDuel and DraftKings have some smaller GPPs in the lobby as well as March Madness satellites. You might as well toss a couple teams in, since it will make your work day go faster.
