Rise & Grind: Wednesday, July 29th

Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we sort through yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.
In Case You Missed It
DeflateGate – Tom Brady likes his balls a certain way for the better part of the last six months this has been discussed. Unless you live under a rock that the NFL PR Machine can’t reach, you already know about Deflategate. During the NFL title game, the Patriots may or may not have intentionally deflated footballs and Tom Brady may or may not have been the culprit. The NFL spent several million dollars doing scientific studies to come to this conclusion. Tom Brady refused to hand over his personal cell phone to the investigators. In fact, Brady destroyed his cell phone. This certainly means we won’t be getting any leaked pictures of his wife Giselle, but it also means Brady is suspended for the first four games of the season. Brady isn’t going down without a fight though. This is headed to the courtroom now. The only thing we know for certain is that Jimmy Garoppolo is in play for fantasy purposes now.
RotoGrinders Lineup App – Do you ever get sick of pounding the refresh button at 6:50 ET waiting for the last couple of lineups to drop? Imagine if there was an app that would notify you when those lineups are posted or if something unexpected like a late scratch or cancellation happens. Soon enough you will be able to download an app that does just that. RotoGrinders is excited to announce an MLB Starting Lineups App that is in the final stages of development. With the new RG app you can receive push notifications for late breaking news. It will also allow you to filter players based on salary for easily building last-minute lineups or finding a cheap punt. Stay tuned Grinders, the app is coming soon!
New FanDuel Lobby – Speaking of new things, have you heard about the new FanDuel lobby? Over the last few months
FanDuel has been reworking the features and tools on their site in hopes of modernizing the user experience. A big step in that direction is the new lobby. It includes filters for different game sets as well as different types of contests such as satellites, multipliers, tournaments, and head-to-head. If you haven’t seen it yet, type https://www.fanduel.com/games into your browser to check it out. There is also a link on that page to a survey or if you wish you can let the guys at FD know what you think in this forum thread.
Junior Galette – Professional sports are a business. When a player is released or traded we have to remember that everyone involved is a professional. So naturally, when Junior Galette was cut by the Saints this past weekend he handled it like a true professional. Haha, just kidding! He went completely ballistic and used his girlfriend’s Twitter account to sling mud at the Saints. The Tweets have since been deleted, but here is a cliff note summary of Galette’s rant posted to Reddit. There is definitely some good stuff in there if you enjoy NFL gossip. My favorite part is where he called Keenan Lewis an “osterich looking b****”. Apparently, Galette has a deal in place with a division rival which means a massive #NarrativeStreet showdown twice this upcoming season. Stay tuned folks!
MLB Recap – How about that Toronto Blue Jays stack last night? They really crushed it, and by crushed it I mean the bankroll of everyone who went heavy on them. Meanwhile, in Coors Field Arlington, Texas the Yankees hung a 21 spot on the Rangers. For a recap of last night’s big winners and losers check out bhdevault’s Daily Roundup. There are plenty of Yankees who made the Daily Winners section so naturally you didn’t win anything substantial last night without a Yankees stack.
Big Winners – You know who did win with a Yankees stack? Several Grinders including big names like dandydon (lovesbases), Al_smizzle, eck2b and more. We kick the Big Winners section off with Dandydon who took down the Tuesday Special for $100K and also punched his ticket to the FBWC. Eck2b was impressed by that, but he did some work himself. He won the Perfect Game, Gold Glove, and High Heat. Over on FanDuel, Al_smizzle dominated the qualifier scene taking both the $1065 WFBC qualifier and the $200 FWBC qualifier. Clemben10 won $100K in the Super Monster, mcbester took down the Grand Slam, charliechase won the Rally, and cosmoworm won the Squeeze with a 103.5! To see the entire list of links, check this forum thread.
On The Menu
MLB Today – The MLB schedule offers 15 games today, split between six early and nine late. The early slate offers exciting pitching options like Kluber, Liriano, and Archer while the late slate offers the first chance to play Tulowitzki in a Jays’ stack and also pay $15K for Kershaw. Those two things probably can’t be accomplished together, though. To help you decide which direction to go, be sure to check out the content here at RotoGrinders including the MLB Grind Down, Expert Picks, and GrindersLive at 10:30, 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30. As a special bonus, the FanDuel Bracket Challenge seeding will take place on the 3:30ET GrindersLive show. Be sure to tune in if you are in the Bracket challenge or just interested in the seeding drawing
Quicken Loans National – If you are interested in building some PGA lineups this week be sure to check out Gibbathy, STLCardinals84, and Devopoker who recorded PGA After Dark last night. Gibb, STL, and Devo discussed the course and all their favorites picks for this week. If you are an incentives member you will also want to check out Gibbathy’s expert picks, as well as Notorious’ expert picks and projections.
With that, I’m out of here Grinders. Good luck out there in your afternoon and evening contests. Hopefully I will see you at the top of the leaderboard.
