Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we sort through yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.

In Case You Missed It

MadMax – If you thought the multi-entry debate was raging before, stroll on over to the forums and take a peek. The hot takes are burning with the fire of a thousand suns after maxdalury entered the DK $1M Payoff Pitch 888 times. Max used those entries to claim first place for $100,000 as well as six other places in the top 10. Whether you agree with what he did, you at least need to take a moment to appreciate the courage. Max used the combination of Kershaw and Shoemaker on roughly 850 of the 888 teams. That’s how you succeed at multi-entry. You eliminate a large percentage of options, then you attack the field using the remaining players. When it works, you look like a genius. When it doesn’t, no one sends out a search party to find you at the bottom of the standings.

FanDuel Android App – The long awaited FanDuel Android app was finally released yesterday. As many of you know, the Google play store doesn’t allow paid gaming apps. You can only download the app directly from FanDuel. There is a link in this forum thread to download it. The previously released live scoring app is still available in the Google play store, but that’s not the app you want. This one offers the good stuff that iPhone users have been raving about. Go download the app now and try it out tonight as you root for your little peg to make the long journey from left to right or at least land somewhere in the green (the cash zone).

A Whole Lot of Wind Noise – If you are like me, you wish that no one ever told you about Wrigley Field wind games. Every now and then, 15-20MPH of wind is in the forecast for Wrigley and it is blowing straight out to center. Everyone including Vegas jumps on the bandwagon as the Over/Under soars to ten or more. This leads to days like Monday when 80% of the field has a Nationals/Cubs stack and the game ends 2-1. Last night was another wind game, but at least it helped a little if you had Bryce Harper. In the 7th inning, Bryce hit what looked like a routine fly ball. Bryce even slammed his bat in frustration but the Wind Gods decided to give Bryce a little help. The ball sailed into the third row and Wrigley wind backers rejoiced.

While Bryce Harper used the wind to propel his home-run, Josh Donaldson needed no such help last night. Donaldson hit two dongs including the walk-off game-winner during a 4 for 4 day that saw him score 48 DraftKings points (21 on FanDuel). Hopefully, you were in the 25% of tournament lineups that had “Dongalson.” If not, I have to assume you went to bed really early last night and you are feeling great today.

NBA Playoffs – After defeating the Atlanta Hawks 118-88, the Cleveland Cavaliers have advanced to the NBA Finals. As far as I know, the major DFS sites are not planning to run one-game NBA contests, so NBA DFS has officially ended. That’s not the big story here though. In DFS, a short memory is critical. That doesn’t mean you should forget about the time someone screwed you over though. Remember when the Atlanta Hawks rested all their starters with no advanced warning? They weren’t even sorry about it. I’m not advocating that you should go kick the Hawks when they are down, but I am saying you are sitting here on a computer (or on a phone). Twitter is just a few clicks away. Ahhhh, what the heck? Let’s just go do it… Alright, we’re back. That felt good. Let’s move on.

On The Menu

PGA Tomorrow – Now that NBA is over, it is time to search for a new DFS sport. If you haven’t tried out PGA, the content here at RotoGrinders is a great way to learn. There is a Millionaire-Maker coming up next month so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get some practice rounds in. Last night STLCards, Gibbathy, and Devopoker recorded “GrindersLive After Dark.“https://rotogrinders.com/articles/pga-after-dark-at-t-byron-nelson-708913 The three of them covered everything you need to know about the Byron Nelson event this week. If you are an incentives member, Notorious has his projections updated and both Gibbathy and Notorious have their expert picks ready for your clicking pleasure.

MLB Today – The good news is that we have 15 games on the schedule today. The possibly bad news is that 11 of those games are in the early slate that starts at 12:10ET. If you screwed up and didn’t play Donaldson last night this is your chance to wash the bad taste out of your mouth. MLB content has already started rolling in for the day and you can even catch Pepsi7 and CrazyGabey at 10:30ET for a special morning edition of GrindersLive. That’s coming up really quick, so let’s hurry up and finish up here.

NarrativeStreet – Yesterday there was no narrative needed to play Josh Donaldson. We all know John Danks sucks. We all know Josh Donaldson is good. The problem is our opponents also know these things. To set ourselves apart from the field we need to dig deep to find some players with a little extra motivation. Here are today’s #NarrativeStreet picks. Every team today should start with David Oritz in a #RevengeGame against the Twins. Hopefully you are playing on DraftKings, because you are also going to want Miguel Cabrera. Why Miggy, you ask. Because he is playing a day game. This year Miggy has a .447 average and 10 dongs during the day. At night he turns into a pumpkin, with a .231 average and just one dong. Last but not least, we need to take a quick look at BvP since numbers and small samples never lie. Today instead of picking guys because of BvP we are using it to avoid players. Stay far, far away from Jimmy Rollins and Robinson Cano. Rollins is 0 for 14 against Wood and Cano is 0 for 10 against Archer.

With that friends, let’s get out of here and go build some teams to sweat while getting nothing done at work today. Make sure to catch Pepsi and Gabey at 10:30ET on GrindersLive and if you decide to play tonight Dean and STLCards will be on at 5:30ET.
