Rudzia55 Takes the #1 Spot!

Welcome back to another week of the Grinder Rankings Update, and as you can tell from the title, the headline comes all the way from the top this week. Rudzia55 has surpassed Condia to take over the first overall place in the rankings. Condia has held a magnificent run in the top spot, yet Rudzia55 edges him out this week ever so slightly to take the throne. Just a month ago that didn’t seem possible but by having the best Monthly GLB Rudzia55 was able to displace the dominance of Condia. With that said, the race is still tight and with the level that these two guys play at, don’t be surprised if Condia reclaims his lead next week. Should be an interesting battle!

Now that we’ve gotten through the biggest news of the week we can move on to the other important updates on the GLB Leaderboard. This week is a bit special simply because we have the top 50 posted for the Monthly GLB Ranks as well as an All-Star Break NHL Update for Grinder Nation and its’ top 50 NHL players this season. But first things first let’s break down the overall leaderboard with some new additions and big movers.

The first new addition to the overall board is Jlowery73 who worked all the way up to 19th. While Jlowery73 used an impressive January, in which he ranks 11th for the month, don’t forget that he is not totally new to the game. He wasn’t playing as much during the September-November span and fell off the board but his recent success has allowed him to jump back up to the top 20, so great work there. Another guy who joined the overall board this week and sits at #80 overall is Reignonu. Anytime you see a new player ranked that high you have to know they’re on fire lately. Similarly, Jayhawkz274, Dsipl777, and Ajpy26 join the board at #91,92 and 98 respectively. Great work to those guys, it’s truly an honor to be in the rapidly growing daily fantasy sports world.

There weren’t too many huge jumps up the board this week, but four guys were able to make solid leaps to increase their standing. As to be expected, the higher you rise, the more difficult it will be to continue rising. With that in mind, the three place jump that Dinkpiece made to #18 is a sign of a great week and definitely should be expected to continue moving upwards in the future. Similarly, J21willy continues to move up every week and has now found himself in 27th place after another 5 place increase. Keep up the great work! The biggest jump of the week goes to MoneyMaker who’s 9 spot move pushed him all the way to #73 overall! The last jump of note goes to another new addition to the leaderboard from recent weeks, Luceca8 moved up 6 more spots and now stands at #85 overall. Great job to all these guys and to all of you in Grinder Nation who keep winning money and challenging each other to take our games to the next level!

January 2012 Top 10 Grinders

It’s no surprise that most of the guys mentioned in this article and the previous three weeks of articles find themselves securing the majority of the top ten places. And it can be seen as a ray of hope for new Grinders looking to cement their standing in the daily fantasy world, as one good month can truly push you up the leaderboards and into some good money. Maxdalury took the top spot this month with a couple big GPP wins and some huge NFL success down the stretch. Absolutely superb month for Maxdalury. Beermakersfan, Rudzia55, Ohmsy and J21willy round out the rest of the top five of January and four of that five stand strong in the top 6 of the overall ranks as well. J21willy is the only one outside the top 10, but has used the solid month of January to push from being outside the top 100 to #27 overall so there’s living proof that one great month can be a huge difference maker in your standing among Grinder Nation. Congrats to all of you on the top 50 for January and keep the hot streak alive into the shortened month of February.

NHL All Star Break Top 10

While NHL players look forward to a much needed rest off the ice, these top 50 NHL players are desperately hoping for more hockey to keep their hot starts to the season going. The symbolic “half way point” of the NHL season allows us to take a deep breath and look at who among us is excelling on the NHL circuit and representing Grinder Nation well. The shout outs here are going to try and get some new guys involved, so apologies if you are rocking it in NHL but already got your name out there in the overall or monthly section. First we have the 3rd place player at the NHL break, Woopdeewoo. One thing that’s for sure is that I’m sure there’s a ton of “wooping” at his house with all the money coming in with his NHL knowledge so far. Sportshawk stands in 7th at the half way point, Cstra3257 is holding down 9th and Sixten is coincidentally sitting in the ten spot. All of these guys, and anyone seen on any of these lists, are immensely successful and are true All-Stars of daily fantasy.
