2024 Sanderson Farms Championship Forecast and Projections

We’re teeing off for the Sanderson Farms Championship this week in my old stomping grounds of Jackson, MS, where the weather should cooperate pretty nicely with light winds and just chances for showers.

As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Sanderson Farms Championship Weather Forecast

Thursday, October 3rd

Perfect weather for day 1. Dry with 5 mph winds all day long.

Friday, October 4th

Not quite perfect but pretty darn good. Winds around 5 mph to start, climbing 5-10 mph by the afternoon. A chance of afternoon showers.

Saturday, October 5th

Winds should be similar to Friday; 5-10 mph peak, likely highest in the afternoon. Low chance of an afternoon shower.

Sunday, October 6th

Closing things out with a similar pattern; 5-10 mph max sustained winds with a low chance of rain or storms.

Sanderson Farms Championship Weather Thoughts

I don’t think weather is going to make or break us here, but I suppose I have a slight lean towards Thursday PM / Friday AM, only because you get slightly better weather on Friday. Wouldn’t exactly make that the crux of my build, but I could see a slight edge there.
