SIS DataHub - New Marketplace DFS Research Tool
I can’t remember exactly when it happened but around age 15, my most anticipated day of the year went from being Christmas to the first Sunday of the NFL season. For me, the adult version of staring down a room full of unopened presents is watching the final seconds tick away on the NFL Red Zone countdown to 1:00 PM ET.
I guess that means Scott Hanson is Santa Claus in this scenario.
The reason for this childlike level of excitement is simple – Fantasy Football, more specifically DFS. My love for football (and baseball) is what inspired me to work in this industry, and I’m beyond lucky to say that my professional life is consumed by sports data and analytics.
At Sports Info Solutions I’m exposed to everything that comes with that territory, including working with teams, fantasy companies and all kinds of analytical tools.
Putting my work affiliations aside and coming at you through the eyes of a pure DFS junkie, the SIS DataHub is the best data tool out there. I use it every day to build custom fantasy spreadsheets and do ridiculously granular research about upcoming matchups – I’m 100% reliant on it at this point. If you’re anything like me, you need to check it out.
You can see the best of my weekly research by subscribing to the SIS Bonus Pack in the RG Marketplace. Even more exciting is that when you subscribe to the full-season of the SIS Bonus Pack and NFL-IQ (our DFS projections), you also get a free one-month subscription to the SIS NFL DataHub.
Here is a barely-legible screenshot of the filters on the “Passing – Player Leaderboard” and below I give a quick walkthrough of each section.
Game Filters are used to split searches by team, opponent, indoor/outdoor and home/road.
Time Filters allow you to choose which season (back to 2015) and week range you want your search to pull from. It also gives you the option to “split by game” to show see the highest single-game totals based on the criteria.
—> Last season the Chargers allowed 3 of the 10 highest single-game Yards/Carry averages.
Situation Filters offer various ways to pull out fantasy-relevant data such as red zone splits, stats when leading or behind, garbage time, and more.
—> Deshaun Watson led the league in touchdown passes when trailing by 10+ points (despite 37 QBs with more pass attempts in those deficits).
Personnel Filters allow you to look at specific formations and personnel groupings; 3-wide, empty backfield, two Tight Ends, shotgun, and more.
—> The Cardinals ran the most 4-WR sets in the league (2.5x more than the second highest team)
Advanced Filters are specific to each aspect of the game. For example, Passing leaderboards allow you to sort coverage scheme, pressure (yes/no), play action (yes/no), targeted receiver position or alignment, route type, throw distance and more.
—> Russell Wilson threw the most deep balls last season (88) and also had the highest On-Target% (58%)
Let’s have a glimpse at a “Pass Defense – Player Leaderboard” filtered to see which defensive players were targeted the most inside the 10 yard line last season.
I hope you take advantage of this offer and look forward to seeing you over at the SIS Bonus Pack, where we’ll have weekly chats and data-driven content!
