squirrelpatrol: How I'll Examine Past Slates Before Building MLB DFS Lineups Tonight
This article is part of a new series in which we will examine winning tournament strategies from top tournament players. We’ll focus on how you can use RotoGrinders Premium tools to replicate the concepts and strategies deployed by some of the best GPP minds.
Today’s contributor is John Breslin, better known as squirrelpatrol on DFS sites. Among his many GPP wins, he emerged victorious in the 2018 FanDuel WFBC and knows his way to the top the MLB DFS leaderboard. Below, he shares one of his many strategies for attacking tournaments with hopes of helping you become a better DFS player.
Having had some success at winning large-field tournaments (10 six-figure DFS payouts) and live final seats on FanDuel and DraftKings (19 finals seats across sports so far in 2018-2019), one of the most common questions I get is “What is your daily process like?”
Living on the East Coast often means waking up before all of the evening’s information is finalized – like today, teams are still figuring out starting pitchers and injury information, and Vegas hasn’t even set odds for several games. So I start each morning not by looking at that night’s slate, but by taking a look at yesterday to see how I did, and more importantly, what strategies and tools worked.
