SuperContest Consensus: Saints (+3) Most Popular in Week 3
Despite starting the 2018 Las Vegas SuperContest with an 0-2 record against the spread, the New Orleans Saints (+3) is the most popular selection across the 3,123 contestants for Week 3. The Saints will be on the road against the Atlanta Falcons, and 823 contestants will be hoping they cover the spread to earn that a valuable point.
The 823 picks represent 26.5% of the SuperContest and are the lowest number of selections for the weekly most popular team this year. In Week 2, the Houston Texans (PK) was the most popular with 1,514 picks. In Week 1, it was the Cincinnati Bengals (+3) with 1,218 picks as the most popular.
As 3-point favorites on the other side, the Falcons are the 23rd most popular team for Week 3 with 346 selections. That’s the second largest differential between opposing sides in Week 3. The first is the Seattle Seahawks (-2) with 806 picks and the Dallas Cowboys (+2) with 280 picks. Seattle is the second most popular side for Week 3.

Entering Week 3 of the SuperContest, the top five most popular picks for each week, known commonly as the “top five consensus picks,” are 4-6 against the spread. Those picks started off well with a 4-1 performance in Week 1, but quickly slipped off the track with an 0-5 result in Week 2.
Going back to 2013, the weekly top five consensus picks are now 204-220-11 entering Week 3 of this season.
Texans Remain Most Popular Overall in 2018
With 848 selections in Week 1, 1,514 selections in Week 2, and 319 selections in Week 3, the Houston Texans have been selected a total of 2,681 times this year. That makes Houston the most popular team overall by more than 600 selections. Only three other NFL squads have been selected a total of more than 2,000 times – Los Angeles Rams at 2,072, Pittsburgh Steelers at 2,040, and New York Giants at 2,008. Those four teams have a combined against-the-spread record of 2-6.
