SuperContest Consensus: Texans (PK) Most Popular Pick for Week 2
The Houston Texans, listed as a pick’em (PK) against the Tennessee Titans, are the most popular pick for Week 2 of the Las Vegas SuperContest. After Week 1 saw 1,218 of the 3,123 contestants pick the Cincinnati Bengals (+3), an even greater 1,514 contestants selected the Texans (PK) for Week 2.
The popularity of the Texans has a lot to do with the injuries to the Titans. In most places, the line has ballooned to Texans (-4), despite the fact that Houston is playing the game on the road. The Titans have key injuries to the offensive line, and then Marcus Mariota has a bad nerve in this throwing arm that is causing plenty of difficulty leading up to the game.
No other SuperContest selection was picked more than 1,000 times.

In addition to being the most popular team in Week 2, the Texans are the most popular SuperContest selection of 2018, with a total of 2,362 selections through two weeks. The Texans were picked 848 times in Week 1 and the fifth most popular selection of opening weekend. The New York Giants, who come in this week as the second most popular team with 933 picks, are second through two weeks with 1,663 picks.
Heading into the 2018 season, the weekly top five consensus picks were 200-214-11 against the spread in the Las Vegas SuperContest going back to 2013. The top five went 4-1 in Week 1 this year. That improved the total record to 204-215-11, but it’s booking less than 50% winners in the SuperContest.
The Titans were the least popular team in Week 2, as they appear on just 80 entries for Week 2.
Over in the high-stakes SuperContest Gold — the SuperContest’s sister contest with a $5,000 buy-in and winner-take-all format — the Texans (PK) were the top pick there as well. Of the 128 SuperContest Gold entries, Houston was picked 67 times.
