The Ohmsy Controversy - Update: Ohmsy Responds through Blog

If you’ve been on FanDuel today, then you’ve noticed something isn’t quite right. The chat box seems to be a good bit more argumentative than it normally is. The controversy (which I’m coining ‘ScanDuel’) allegedly revolves around FanDuel members and employees discovering that “one or more players [were] entering private contests via a loophole.” A warning was issued that “anyone entering a private contest for which they did not use a standard contest entry link will be subject to at least a one week ban from FanDuel.” Well, that ban was already issued to one user, a prominent member of the FanDuel community: Ohmsy. Apparently these users have been circumventing the URLs for password-protected, private games in the community and entering some for a cash buy-in. This work-around compromises the security of the private game format.

I’ve received texts and ‘Skypes’ about the issue; the forums are on fire discussing the subject. Being your #1 source for Daily Fantasy News, we’ll be compiling any updates and opinions from the community as they come in.
