Fanduel Friday Dunk: Top 15 Sleeper Picks

The NHL is off for the All-Star break so Landshark Hockey has graciously allowed me to fill his Friday posting spot with some quick picks for tonight’s Fanduel fantasy basketball tournaments. There are 12 games on the NBA schedule and I’ve highlighted in no particular order a player or two from each game that could provide a big upside for a reasonable investment of salary. Anthony Morrow (NJN, $4100) – Morrow recently returned after missing 17 games with an injury and he’s been shooting the ball well. I played him in the Wednesday Slam and he put up 19pts/4reb/1ast/1stl, good for 25 Fanduel fantasy points.

Darren Collison (IND, $6600) – Collison is finally starting to settle in with Indiana and has become one of their primary offensive weapons. He’s averaging 16.8 points, 5.2 assists and 1.4 steals over his last 5 games.

DeMar DeRozan (TOR, $6700) – DeRozan has just been lighting it up lately averaging 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals over his last 5 games. He’s put up an average of 20 shots a game over those five and should get plenty of opportunities tonight.

J.J. Hickson (CLE, $6100) – Hickson has been a beast lately averaging a double-double of 11.0 points and 13.0 rebounds over his last 5 games. He’s got a great matchup against a Denver team who is hurting on the interior with Nene and Kenyon Martin both missing Wednesday’s game with injuries.

Ramon Sessions (CLE, $6100) – Mo Williams is out and Sessions is getting the start at PG for the Cavs. He’s handling the job well, averaging 20 points and 6 assists in his last couple of games. Ride the hot streak with Sessions.

Tracy McGrady (DET, $5700) – McGrady is starting for the Pistons and could get even more run tonight with Rodney Stuckey suffering a shoulder injury that could cause him to miss the game. Rip Hamilton is recovering from the flu and may be out as well. McGrady has averaged 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in his last two games.

Ben Gordon (DET, $5700) – Rodney Stuckey injured his shoulder Wednesday and Rip Hamilton still has the flu, which could leave Gordon as the starting shooting guard for the Pistons tonight. Check the newswire just to be sure that he gets the call.

C.J. Watson (CHI, $4500) – Derrick Rose is dealing with stomach ulcers and might miss this one. C.J. Watson should get the start if Rose is out. Watson made one start earlier this season for Rose and put up 33 points on 11 of 22 shooting, so the potential for a big line is there.

Nick Young (WAS, $6700) – Young is starting at SG for the Wizards and averaging 20.0 points and 4.8 boards over his last 5 games. He’s taken nearly 18 shots a game over that stretch and should get that again tonight.

D.J. Augustin (CHA, $6900) – The Bobcats have a great matchup against the high scoring Warriors. Augustin is averaging 19.4 points and 6.4 assists over his last 5 games. He’s really improved his fantasy production with the recent coaching change in Charlotte.

Corey Maggette (MIL, $5800) – Maggette has a great matchup against the Raptors and he’s managed to top 20 points three times in his last five games. He’s a risky pick, but the potential for upside is there.

Kris Humphries (NJN, $6600) – He’s averaging a double-double of 11.2 points and 10.0 rebounds over his last 5 games. He should be able to pick up another one against the Pacers.

Andrew Bynum (LAL, $7000) – Bynum is sitting right on the $7000 cutoff line for what I consider a sleeper/value pick. He’s averaging 14.8 points and 9.6 rebounds over his last 5 games, which is a great deal at the center position for only $7000.

Kwame Brown (CHA, $4900) – Brown has actually been a valuable fantasy commodity lately averaging 8.8 points and 8.8 rebounds over his last 5 games. He’s got a good matchup against the Warriors in what should be a high scoring game.

Danilo Gallinari (NYK, $6000) – Gallinari has started to heat up again since returning from a recent injury. He’s averaging 16.8 points, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steal in his last 5 games.

- Good luck tonight and be sure to check the newswire during the day for any injury surprises.
