Top KBO DFS Stacks: Friday, May 22nd

We continue to flip flop between strong and weak pitching slates, with tonight’s falling in between the extremes of the past couple days. Overall, I am much less enthused about the bats tonight with most of these starters having at least average skill sets and something that gives me pause about a full stack. But few if any of them are so good as to call them must-avoids. I find myself starting with Kiwoom and Kia again tonight, so let’s begin there.

Kiwoom Heroes vs Kyung Eun Noh

Noh is a pitcher with solid control, but that’s about the end of his skill set. He spent the 2019 season in Australia but didn’t throw enough innings to give us any useful new data. His 16.3% K rate from 2018 looks like a high water mark, as he was in the 12-14% range in 2014-2016. He’s also 36-years old, so not likely to be gaining any strikeout punch at this point in his career. We’ve already seen this season that he is going to be at the mercy of BABIP with his strike-throwing. In his first start, he allowed nine hits and five runs in five innings, while in his second start, he allowed eight hits in six innings, but they weren’t strung together as neatly, so he only allowed one run. Tonight, I’ll be on the side of these Heroes bats breaking through at the right time.
