Week 12

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-5) Over 47 1.5u

It’s been quite a tailspin for the reigning Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, who are 4-6 after losing three of their last four games. They’ve looked downright bad. Their defense has fallen apart. Literally. They’re down their top five cornerbacks. They had to have receivers play corner in practice just to have enough bodies for the position. The current starters on the backend of their defense are all undrafted free agents whose names you’ve probably never heard. The Eagles have allowed 75 points in their last two games. Those were against much better teams (Cowboys and Saints), but the leaks are there.

They were there when these teams faced off in Week 6. They put up 780 yards of combined offense in that game – and New York actually had more yards than the Eagles, whose defense gave up 401 yards to Eli Manning and his fading arm talent. Somehow, the Giants managed to turn those yards into only 13 points, while the Eagles scored 34, putting that game at 47 points, equal to this week’s total.
