Sunday’s game of the day is the Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC. This game has the No. 1 seed in the NFC on the line, while the loser slips to the No. 5 seed. My entry for this game is lower than 89.5 rushing yards for Jahmyr Gibbs, higher than 280.5 passing yards for Sam Darnold, higher than 65.5 receiving yards for Jordan Addison, and higher than 1.5 field goals made for Jake Bates.
The Vikings’ top priority defensively should be stopping the run, since that sets up play action. Minnesota has one of the NFL’s best run defenses, and I expect them to play well in the red zone and make Detroit have to bring out Bates for a couple of attempts. The Lions’ defense is in tatters from the injury bug, so Darnold and Addison should be able to produce without a ton of resistance.
