Using his experience as a former scout and staff member at Central Florida under Josh Heupel, Jordan Vanek takes an in-depth look at the upcoming NFL DFS main slate on DraftKings. Formerly of The 33rd Team and 4for4 Fantasy Football, Jordan will do a deep dive into the best ways to attack the wide receiver position to help you climb the leaderboards.

Having Bo Nix as part of the article last week was a great save after pivoting to the Mac Jones build and realizing the Lions are dominating bad NFL teams in a way reminiscent of Georgia’s treatment of FCS opponents in college football. This weekend offers a small but intriguing slate with plenty of opportunities to target bounce-back performances from some top-tier players.

The sub-$6,000 range for wide receivers is particularly enticing in these big games, presenting several strong options that can provide excellent value for your lineups. It’s a slate worth analyzing closely to maximize upside, especially with the potential for some standout performances at an affordable price point. Keep an eye on a few key WRs in this range who can make a significant impact.

Ownership will present a ton of opportunities, and our NFL DFS projections and NFL DFS optimizer LineupHQ will keep you updated with how the slate’s lining up. I think a lot of the players in this article will not be very popular when Sunday comes around and we will have an edge on the slate.

Now let’s get into my views on the slate.

Stacks

Kyler Murray ($6,200, QB, Arizona Cardinals)

Marvin Harrison Jr. ($6,100, WR, Arizona Cardinals)

DK Metcalf ($6,600, WR, Seattle Seahawks)

In recent weeks, the Seattle Seahawks have shifted to playing significantly more man coverage, which has led to an improvement in their run defense. If they stick to this trend against Kyler Murray, it will likely result in more scramble drills for him, providing us with rushing upside. Additionally, there’s a clear alpha target for Murray in Marvin Harrison Jr. against this man coverage look. Harrison has led in target share and has consistently been the first read against man coverage all season. With these two priced at a combined $12,300, you won’t find a higher-upside stack on the slate.

In this stack, I believe Kenneth Walker will be the primary bring back but he’s a good man/gap runner, and the Cardinals are much worse when facing more zone style of running backs. Metcalf has the upside at the position that’s been bad all season, and when you look at Metcalf’s splits after week one, he’s averaged 9.4 targets for 87 yards each week, and most importantly, the Cardinals have played a lot more Cover 3 this season than last season. The splits below show how dominant Metcalf has been when facing that coverage, and he’s also missed time this year.
